Shout! Studios, the multi-platform filmed entertainment distribution and production arm of Shout! Factory, announced the appointment of Julie Dansker to the newly created role of Head of New Content Sales. The announcement was made today by Shout! Factory’s Co-Founder and CEO Garson Foos to whom Dansker reports.

In this new role, Dansker will oversee the strategy and sales of new content. She’ll collaborate to acquire and distribute new movies and series to streaming and broadcast partners. She will work closely with Garson Foos, David McIntosh, Senior Vice President of Content Licensing & Strategy, and Mark Balsam, Senior Broadcast Sales. Dansker will lead the efforts to distribute front line titles and leverage her strong relationships with the buyers at major streaming services and digital channels.

A seasoned entertainment executive with long-standing relationships with content creators, all content buyers, multichannel video programming distributors, digital and streaming platforms, and networks, Dansker recently served as Vice President of Sales & Marketing at The Orchard and oversaw all distribution and content strategy. In 2019, she was promoted to Chief Revenue Officer when new ownership rebranded the company 1091.

Over the years, Dansker helped propel many films to industry and press acclaim. Critically acclaimed titles include Academy Award® -nominated documentaries CARTEL LAND and LIFE, ANIMATED, Golden Globe-nominated NERUDA, Taika Waititi’s cult hits HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE and WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, the crowd-pleasing film THE HERO, starring Sam Elliott, the award-winning documentary THE DAWN WALL and most recently the box office success LINDA RONSTADT: THE SOUND OF MY VOICE which won a Critic’s Choice Award.

Before The Orchard, Dansker managed global digital sales at MGM Studios for MGM’s new film releases, acquisition titles, TV series, and library content. Previously, she worked in development and production at Spyglass Entertainment and New Line Cinema. She began her career in Los Angeles at Endeavor, and prior to that, she worked at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
