A Christmas Without Snow
Description
This touching drama, directed by John Korty (The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman), examines how people of different backgrounds and experience resolve their conflicts to celebrate together in harmony.
A Christmas Without Snow stars Michael Learned (The Waltons) as Zoe Jensen, a divorced woman from Nebraska who moves to San Francisco with her son to get a new start on life. As she navigates life in her new hometown, she joins the choir of a local church, led by the stern but gifted choirmaster Ephraim Adams (John Houseman - The Paper Chase). As Christmas approaches, and with it the choir's biggest performance of the year, the curmudgeonly Adams pushes the group to their limit in his drive for perfection. Tensions with the group come to the surface, and together they must overcome a host of issues, from racism and ageism to single parenthood and the plight of struggling inner city churches.
This excellent supporting cast includes James Cromwell (The Queen, Six Feet Under) as Reverend Lohman, Ramon Bieri (Murder She Wrote) as Henry Quist and Valerie Curtain (9-5) as Muriel. A Christmas Without Snow is a poignant tale of redemption and forgiveness, a film the whole family can enjoy in the spirit of the holidays.
