“You guys cured my heart, so tonight I will celebrate with my boys because we are world champions!” – Dave Martinez, Washington Nationals Manager

The 2019 World Series was loaded with surprises, comebacks, superstars, and more than a few new records. Home-field advantage belonged to the league-leading 107-win Houston Astros, who were looking to take back a title they had first won in 2017. Their opponents? The white-hot Washington Nationals, fighting for the first World Series title in franchise history. What baseball fans would witness was one of the most unpredictable Fall Classics in Major League Baseball history, in which the road team won all seven games for the very first time. This December, Washington Nationals fans can relive that excitement with two ultimate home entertainment keepsakes celebrating their team’s unforgettable run to the top: “THE 2019 WORLD SERIES,narrated by Craig Melvin, anchor of NBC’s TODAY, available on two-disc Blu-ray+DVD combo pack and DVD, and the “2019 WORLD SERIES COLLECTOR’S EDITION: WASHINGTON NATIONALS”, an 8-disc collection on Blu-ray and DVD. Both will be released on December 3, 2019, from Shout! Factory and Major League Baseball. On the same day, this documentary will also be available digitally to own and rent.

The 2019 Nationals began their season on the brink, starting 19-31 before shifting into high gear with a baseball-best record of 74-38 down the stretch. Though a health scare confronted Manager Dave Martinez, he expertly led a roster balanced with experience and youth that Mike Rizzo, General Manager & President of Baseball Operations, had tweaked for October success.

The Wild Card game against the Milwaukee Brewers and NLDS against the Los Angeles Dodgers looked much like the Nats regular season – down early, but coming back to win elimination games. A sweep of the surprising, but outmatched, St. Louis Cardinals in the NLCS set up a World Series showdown with the dominant Astros. The Nationals set the tone in Games 1 and 2, winning both games on the road in before bringing the Fall Classic back to Washington, D.C., for the first time since 1933. At Nationals Park, however, the narrative shifted, with the Astros charging back to take Games 3, 4 and 5. Facing elimination in Houston, the Nationals took Game 6 in convincing fashion. The Nationals resilience was truly on display in a dramatic Game 7, where they came from behind to bring the Commissioner’s Trophy back to the District in one of Major League Baseball’s most unpredictable and exciting Fall Classics ever.

With gutsy performances from talented and tactical pitchers Stephen Strasburg, Max Scherzer, and Patrick Corbin, crushing blasts from superstars Anthony Rendon and Juan Soto, big plays and clutch hits from veterans Adam Eaton, Trea Turner, Howie Kendrick, and Mr. National Ryan Zimmerman, it was, finally, fight finished! Aside from the official documentary film, edited together from hundreds of hours of game coverage and cinematic hi-def footage for maximum excitement, “THE 2019 WORLD SERIES” film includes comprehensive bonus features such as clinching moments, regular season, postseason and World Series parade highlights.

Fans of the Washington Nationals will also be able relive their team’s entire Fall Classic from the first pitch to the last out. The “2019 WORLD SERIES COLLECTOR’S EDITION: WASHINGTON NATIONALS”,an 8-disc set that includes all seven complete games of the World Series plus a bonus disc featuring the pennant-clinching NLCS Game 4 versus the St. Louis Cardinals in its entirety. This special edition, a must for any die-hard fan, includes SleeveStats inserts, which offer official stats and game trivia. To enhance the viewing experience, each game includes four audio options, allowing home audiences to watch the games while listening to the television broadcast, Washington Nationals Radio Network, opponent’s Radio Network, or a Spanish-language version of the broadcasts.
